STOGUMBER BAPTIST BIRTHS

This file has been made later than the second, thanks to the good offices of Madeline Wesley who 'discovered' these entries in archive that I had missed! My original file was from microfilm of Stogumber Baptist births. As I had been transcribing the Baptismal Register of the Parish Church, I thought it would be a good idea to also transcribe these Baptist records to help complete the local area.

As the Baptist denomination prefer adult baptism, the records are actually records of births to members of their church. One very useful item found in these records and not in the C. of E. Baptismal Records is that the mother's father is recorded and therefore her maiden name. (This really applies to the second file but I thought it best to keep the layout the same as the second file although there were no 'mother's maiden name' entries!)

I have made no attempt to sort these items into chronological order; they are recorded in the order in which they appear in the record. While they are mostly in logical date order, there are obvious instances of two or more children being recorded at one time, usually at the birth date of the 'newest'!
